About Us

We are Vicky and Martin Harris and we are based in Crewe, Cheshire.  Cheshire Pet Services currently operates in South Cheshire and North Staffordshire.

Each assignment is bespoke and tailored to each client's specific needs and, being owned by several animals ourselves, we appreciate just how specific those requirements can be!  So please don't hesitate to tell us exactly what services you require even if you are worried that they may seem a little odd, we spoil our own animals rotten and are very understanding of individual quirks, dietary requirements, special needs, games and gooey pet names.

We both know all too well the difficulties of adequately looking after companion animals while working full time and for many people commuting time can mean that they are away from home for 10 (or more) hours a day.  Now while many companion animals can adapt to this kind of lifestyle it does still mean long periods without their humans, not being able to get outside for essential activities (trying to be polite here) and fresh air and potential unpleasentness for the human to clean up after a hard days work.  Add to that the extra husbandry duties for the human, such as cage or hutch cleaning, and being an animal lover can be hard work!  Cheshire Pet Services can lighten the load and help with things like visits to allow outside toiletting, dog walking, cage and habitat cleaning and playing.  Love and cuddles are a given and are free of charge!  We are also painfully aware of the guilt associated with being at work all day and leaving your animals with no human care and interaction for long periods of time.  Cheshire Pet Services can help you strike that balance between the need to go out to work and the desire to have these animals in your life.

Again, from our personal experience we know that many companion animals simply do not do well with going into kennels or other boarding establishments, and this, along with the cost, makes going on holiday a near impossibility.  Most animals will do much better at being separated from their human family by remaining at home with the familiar sights, sounds and smells.  Having your companion animals cared for at home also means you do not have the added stress of running around and delivering your animals to a boarding establishment (or several different establishments if you have different types of companion animals) inbetween packing and hunting for your passports!  Not to mention the sinking feeling of having to walk away and leave your animals in an often unfamiliar place.  Another added benefit is the peace of mind that your home will be regularly checked and will not be obviously empty.  We do not use livery on our clothing or vehicles for this purpose.  You can also feel secure in the knowledge that we both hold enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks which are available for you to view.

So wether you are looking for long term help while you are at work or a primary carer for while you are away (short or long term assignments) Cheshire Pet Services can provide you with a service tailored to your needs.

What type of companion animals can we look after?

Anything really, we have experience with dogs (we have 2 of our own), cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, rats, mice, parrots (we have 3 of our own) reptiles, insects and arachnids and horses.  Remember that this service is totally bespoke and we will do things 'your way'.  We are also experienced with animals whose behaviour is less than exemplary!  So please don't worry if your dog attacks anything that moves, your cat wants to scratch our eyes out or your parrot dive bombs us!

So what happens now?

Simply get in touch with us, using the details on our contact page, and we can have a chat about your requirements.  We will put together an initial quotation based on the information that you give us over the phone and then confirm everything during a visit to your home where we can meet you and your companion animals.

So don't worry, Cheshire Pet Services can help.

Warmest regards

Vicky and Martin Harris.
